Happy Halloween w/ Carta Bella

Going back to Halloween today.

I have this fun and cool layout I made using a sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

I used a kit from Memorable Seasons with Carta Bella's Spooky line.

My husband carved a really cool pumpkin this year and it was the perfect photo for a fun, spooky layout like this.

I started by dripping dylusions mists on my kraft background. I used orange and black and then lifted the paper and tapped it on my table to get the ink to run more.

I followed the sketch pretty closely using the fun stickers from the line and then added the awesome skull washi tape.

But I think my favorite part was how I used the ribbon that was sent with the kit as spider webs!

I attached my photo & mats with foam adhesive for dimension, so I just attached the ribbon to the back of that and then twisted it down to wear I wanted the spiders to hang. I hooked the ribbon with glue dots and then put the spiders over them. The one in the middle is attached with foam adhesive.

This is probably one of my more favorite layouts I made this fall/winter.

little Angel w/ Carta Bella

Here's a fun layout I didn't get posted back in December.

It was for a pie challenge at Memorable Seasons, so that's why I have the pie graph of papers on the layout. I used Carta Bella's Chirstmas Time line and this fun photo of my little guy adding the angel to the top of the tree.

The kits we received from Memorable Seasons always had at least 2 strips of ribbon in them. I'm not a big ribbon fan, but had fun finding different ways to incorporate them into my layouts.

My alphas weren't the right color so I added some ink to make them match the layout. I also distressed the edges of my pie papers for a fun look. I also added my own bling shine to the top of my paper tree.

No! w/ Simple Stories

Today's fun layout was made for a challenge over at Memorable Seasons.
The challenge is to pair an unexpected color with others on your layout.

This cute Snow Fun line from Simple Stories does that for you. You just don't expect this green to be in a line of blues, grays and whites, but it sure does look good and catch the eye.

This layout is about my daughter who did not want to build a snowman but did tunnel under the snow to make her own snow cave. The bottom photo shows her crawling into her cave. I didn't get a photo of how big it was but she fit in just fine.

With that fun green I was able to make my main photo stand out really easily and then added a few of the cute word stickers from the line around it.

I'm not a big fan of ribbon but I did like this really big gray with white polka dots and used it for layers across my layout. Then I added my journaling over it. The journaling card in the kit had more around it but I wanted the white edges to help it stand out, so I cut that part off. 

Finish it off with some fun layered banners and cute stickers.

Fun! w/ Carta Bella

 Hello! 

I hope you've been enjoying some family time this week.

We sure have! Love all busy together time we get this time of year and I especially love the creative fun we have together at home. 

Today I want to share a photo of my kidlets building their gingerbread house from a couple years ago.

I used a kit from Memorable Seasons called Christmas Time by Carta Bella and a sketch from The memory Nest.

For a fun touch I pleated some ribbon behind the photo. It made me think of old fashioned candy.

I used my goo border punch because I thought it looked like the icing dripping off the roof of the gingerbread house. Love when I can think of different ways to use things!

I finished off by adding a washi tape border and journaling around it. I love the finished feel it gives a layout.

Meeting Santa w/ NAS

 Hello! I have a fun Christmas layout using this awesome sketch from Nuts About sketches:

Here is my layout using the Christmas Time line by Carta Bella that I got as my Dec kit from Memorable Seasons.

I stayed pretty close to the sketch and just had fun mixing the different patterned papers.

I used bling for the dots on the sketch.

Then added in this fun sticker snowflake in place of one of the circles. With a little bit of bling on it, it makes it sparkle.

Merry Christmas card w/ Carta Bella

 On the Memorable Seasons forum this month we are having food related challenges. I came up with a Keepin' it simple appetizer you can check it out here.

For the challenge I made this card:

I used Carta Bella's Christmas Time line and just let the paper do the work for me.

A bit of ribbon, a sentiment, some bling and some inking and it's ready to go.

Scary lo w/ Carta Bella

At Memorable Seasons for the month of November, I was working with Carta Bella's Spooky line.

I'm a big fan of Halloween, so I had to make some fun layouts with it.

Our first challenge is usually to scraplift a board member and for Nov. it was Dria.

I picked this layout of hers:

It has a lot of fun misting and uses a template, which I often forget, and it's just really pretty.

Here's what I came up with:

I misted with orange and black to go with my theme and used a template with circles to keep the pumpkin theme going. Then put all my photos together on one mat.

I had a lot of fun layering the awesome stickers.

and I used the stickers and cutout sheet to do the layers along side my photo grouping. Then added some fun, shimmery glammer rocks from Imaginisce.

Cards w/ Carta Bella

For the month of Oct at Memorable Seasons I was using Carta Bella's, A Perfect Autumn line and we were making cards. Here's the kit, I bought extra papers and the sticker sheet to go along with it:

I'm not much into making cards but I had fun with these and really liked how they turned out.

First up, use your border punches on a card-

I love this little deer sticker and used this card for a gift for my neighbor's sweet little arrival.

Next, use banners-

I love the colors of this line, makes it really easy to use. A bit of brown inking really sets off the colors.

And last, a hanging element card-

Of course this adorable owl had to be the center of this card and then I used some of the leaf stickers to look like falling leaves. Inside I've added a birthday sentiment and this will be for my own owl loving little darling who will turn 13 this month!

2 more w/ Fancy Pants

Here are 2 more layouts I made with it:

With those bold patterns it was easier to use them in little bits. So I used the back of one of the papers and then trimmed the strips out of another.

Add a little bit of ribbon and a double mat for the photo

A little more embellishment and journaling and you're done.

Here's the other layout I made:

I used mists and a stencil for the background.

Here I cut those arrows out of the same bold pattern paper I used on the last page, but then I repaired the pieces with like colors to form these arrows.

I distressed the edges of my photos to help them stand out against the mat more

A few stickers to embellish and then I used these word stickers in place of journaling.

2 layouts w/ Fancy Pants

I got this bright kit from Memorable Seasons:

Luckily I had some leftover Fancy Pants Trendsetter I could use in combination with this and here are 2 of the layouts I came up with:

My littlest guy is so much fun! He's always got me cracking up and he loves getting his picture taken.

I did a lot of ink distressing and outlining of sticker elements to help them pop off the page.

I enjoy clustering elements to lead the eye.

These mistable shapes were a lot of fun. I just started laying them out until I like the look of them but I inked the edges with brown first. It kind of gave them a roasted marshmallow feel.

When I first saw this large envelope in my kit, I was really wishing I had a patterned paper like that. So I cute the envelope up and used it as a background strip, making the closure a fun element.

Next up I have this layout:

All of the bold pattern papers in the kit were a bit of challenge. So I did a lot of cutting and here I misted them to help them blend together on my layout.

Here I used those mistable shapes to make a fun flower embellishment.

Another of those pretty envelopes.

This time with a couple tags tucked in with journaling.
