Party Animals w/ Kaisercrafts

Party Animals in the house!!!
Today I have a fun party layout for you, but...

Before we get to my layout today....

Don't you just love this line? Enter to WIN it here!

And how about this one? Enter to WIN it here!

And now, back to the PARTAY!!

This wild scene was my son's 10th birthday party. These kids had so much fun and I'm still here, so I must have survived it. ;)
I used the adorable Kaisercrafts Party Animals collection. You can find it in the Speedy Scrappers store.

I started with a sketch from Nuts About Sketches & kraft cardstock. Then started cutting the pps to add as embellishments.

These little animals were really fun to cut out of the Yippie paper to add to my layout.

For the banner I used foam adhesive to give it the fun dimension.

Creative Blog Tour

I am doing something extra special and fun today!
I was asked to join a creative blog tour and I thought, what a fun idea! It's always great to "meet" new people who enjoy the same interests as I do and to see what creative things they are coming up with, so of course I jumped at the chance.

My friend Wendi Robinson from Scrappy Day in Paradise asked me to join in the tour. I met Wendi around the web and then got to know her much better when we were on a design team together. I've even met and chatted with her in real life a few times. She is such an awesome person!
I will tag a couple more creative ladies at the end of my post to continue on with the tour.

1. What am I working on?
Right now, this very second, I'm between projects. But I'm a layout girl at heart and you can usually find a layout or 2 in the works on my desk. I jump around a lot from year to year or paper line/theme. I just basically keep my inner need for change happy. Here are my most recent layouts:

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I think my mood really shows in my pages. I really like to "feel" the photos when I'm scrapping them and my layouts usually reflect that. I enjoy adding a bit of humor when I can and just keep it real with the fun moments life throws at you. I think the one element that I can't seem to leave off a page is ink. Whether it's in inking the edges of the papers, misting or a big of doodling, a layout doesn't feel finished to me unless I've inked.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Originally I think I started because my friend did it. lol She was selling Stampin' Up! and totally pulled me in. But now I scrap because I love it. I love my photos (love taking them too) and scrapping them seems to be a way for me to enjoy them and that moment all over again. The creative process behind it all is a super big bonus. I mean who doesn't like to get a little messy with ink now and then?

4. How does your writing/creative process work?
Generally I start with one of 3 different things. Either I have a particular paper line I need/want to work with, a sketch or the photos themselves. Usually I sift through my photos grinning at them until I find some I want to work with, then I'll grab a paper line and move things around on my table until I've picked a background to start with. If I get stuck I look through my favorite sketches (Nuts About Sketches) until I find one to jump start me. From there it's about adding pps and embellishments until my heart is happy. For some reason I tend to forget an actual place for the journaling, but I always find a way to get everything on the page that I want there, even if I end up hiding it under a photo or pattern paper.

Here are the creative blogs/blogger I have tagged.  They will be sharing more about themselves next Monday - Aug. 4th, on their blogs.  Make sure to stop by.

Amelia and I actually met through our daughters. They became friends in school and then we got to know each other through their hang outs. Amelia was already a serious crafter but had taken a bit of a break from scrapping, so I pulled her back in. She has a beautiful elegant style and fun use of paper that I just love!

Hi! My name is Amelia. I'm from Idaho, I've been married to my sweetheart, Jeremy, for 15 years and together we have 3 smart, beautiful girls whom I love to take pictures of and scrapbook! I was introduced to papercrafting back in 2004 a month before having my second daughter and even though my style and focus has changed over the years my love for it continues to grow! I'm a SAHM who loves to get craft on! ;)

Jennifer Taylor aka JenT
I recently got to know Jen from a design team that we both belong to. I was attracted to her fun upbeat personality right away. She so friendly and fun! I love her beautiful scrappy projects. She has some of the awesome-est ideas for projects, makes wonderful cards, unique mini albums and her layouts are super fun.

Have you seen them?

Don't miss my giveaway HERE.

Moxxie's new releases!
There are 7 new releases and they are ALL so awesome!
I don't even know where to start, but I will do my best.
Check it out:

This, Brainiac, line is so fun! I love the "nerdy" glasses the owl is wearing and I can't wait to use it with photos of my daughter and her nerd chic glasses that she got "just for fun"! Of course my favorite parts are the owls with polka dots and the chalkboard algorithims. Yep, I'm a bit of a nerd myself. lol
And do you see all those alphas! I am totally set I tell you. I've ordered multiples of every color!

I have to say normally I wouldn't be overly excited for a football line but Grid Iron is just fantastic! It will go great with the photos I got of my son playing flag football this past May. Not to mention the Superbowl activities I can use it on. Even if I watch just for the commercials right? ;)

Next up is this gorgeous and elegant fall line. Autumn Glory is just that, Autumn in all it's glory. The colors are just amazing and the graphics are beautiful. My favorite part is all the falling leaves. This will be so fun to use on so many of my fall related photos.

Ok, so if you know me at all you know I do a bit of Volleyball. It's kind of a passion of mine. I also have a high school aged daughter that plays and I have to say, being a crafter and a volleyball "Mom" is kind of fun. I really enjoy making team treats and locker decor, so this line is going to be amazingly fun to work with this season!

Next up we have this super cute and spunky pet holidays line, Happy Pawlidays! It really speaks for itself, literally, read all of the funny quotes that are in this line! You will be cracking up just like me!!

I will be honest with you here. I don't really know much about Racing. I know in Nascar that they take a LOT of left turns but that's about it. But I am loving this line with all of the fun bright colors and the need for speed! I can't imagine a racer that wouldn't like a line like this and I know this will look fantastic with my speed demon son's photos. I've already got lots of ideas for this awesome line!

Save the best for last you say? Oh YES!!! This is definitely my fav from this release, which is saying a lot because I really LOVE this entire release. But I know I'm going to have SO much fun with this slightly gruesome but so on trend line, Zombie Attack! Zombies are really it right now and I'm totally into them. It's been about 3 days since I last watched World War Z. lol I LOVE this line!!

So there you have it! 7 totally awesome and off the hook rockin' NEW releases from Moxxie. So I have one thing to say to you....

Toddler Motto w/ kaisercraft

You can still enter my giveaway HERE.

Have you been playing hard this summer?
My family has been extremely busy. It's been fun, but man is it flying by.

Today I have a fun layout using this adorable line from Kaisercraft called Party Animals. I just fell in love with these papers when I saw them! The cutest prints in great colors!! Here's my layout:

I used the Hooray paper as my background. I love papers like this because they really just take all the work out of a layout. All you have to do is add photos and spruce things up a bit if you want and you have a fun layout.

My inspiration for this layout was this fun quote from the Bop! paper. My youngest son is always breaking the rules and pushing the limits, so it didn't take me long to find some fun photos of him to pair up with this cute quote.

Then I used my notebook edge punch on the quote card and my photos. I did some inking, fussy cut the monkey's tail to be above my photo and added some glitter alphas for my title. Then finished up with some fun cork stars.

Run into the Speedy Scrappers store and pick this line up, you will LOVE it!
Happy Scrapping! :)Ange

4 layouts w/ Simple Stories

Don't miss my giveaway on this post!

Today I've got a few layouts I made for Memorable Seasons using Simple Stories Sea to Shining Sea line:

First up I did a sketch challenge from a 2 page Nuts About Sketches sketch #320. Here's the sketch:

I used the left side but switched it up a bit for my needs:

I had a lot of fun using washi tape as a banner on the ribbon they sent with the kit. I even found that metal star on my desk and added it to the banner. The Stars & Stripes card is cut from the Elements paper then I added the word stickers along with stars and circles I cut from other papers in the kit.

Next up is the Member of the Month lift challenge:
June's Member was Susan Anhern. She has many wonderful layouts to choose from in the gallery. What I noticed is that she does some beautiful journaling. So I did my best to get some heartfelt journaling on this layout:

I also used the cut out portion of the USA card to mist my background, then hung the USA letters from my banner paper at the top.

My 2nd challenge was a Theme challenge. I chose to scrap something Sweet:

Linking this lo to Paper Issues Say Cheese

This is my youngest using his toes to help him eat some taffy. He's such a fun little guy and I loved the title that popped into mind, Taffy Toes. I used the charcoal cs as my background then added some pattern paper and bunched a barcode strip with my star border punch to added along the pp. Then I had some cute stars to sprinkle on my layout. Lots of inking and some stickles dots finishes it up.

My last challenge was to Distress, any way you choose:
I used the Ahoy pp for my background and dripped splashes of blue dylusions on it. Then used the Original card from the Elements paper above and below my photos. I fussy cut around "Original" to layer it over the bottom of my photos. I did a lot of scissor distressing, ink and even used an emery-board to distress the edges of my photos.

I had a lot of fun with this kit!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Fierce w/ Moxxie & a giveaway!

 Hello there!
Today I'm taking you to the ball park!!
Have you seen this fantastic line from Moxxie?

You can almost smell the peanuts and hotdogs right? I LOVE this line!!!
Today I've used it to document my son's love of playing Catcher.

Linking to large photo challenge at Scraptastic club.

I used the B side of Batter Up for my background. You can actually see the chain link backstop in my photo so I thought this paper would be perfect. Then I layered the B side of Ball Gear on sideways so I could use the lines for my journaling.

Add some distressing, the awesome cardstock stickers and fun and EASY to use rub-ons and you're all done.

Will you be at the Ball park this summer? Then you'll definitely want this line to document your memories.

Today is your lucky day! I'm giving it away to one lucky follower.
All you have to do is be a follower of my blog and comment below letting me know you are and you're entered to WIN!

Mad Hatter

Today I'm going back a bit to Halloween. This particular year my daughter decided to go as the Mad Hatter. I was super impressed. I love it when my kids come up with their own costumes instead of doing store bought. They look SO much better.

For this layout I used Kaisercraft's The Looking Glass line that you can find in the store. Of course this line was the perfect fit for these photos and I went with this Tweedle Dum paper as my base. I cut the barcode off, flipped it and glued it back to the bottom of the layout for the cool border along the bottom. Then I layered bits of Mad Hatter and Alice before adding my photos.

I cut along the left side of the Time balloon to slip the edge of the paper and photo under. Then added my title, stickers and journaling along with a little bit of purple inking.

Swing by the Speedy Scrappers store and grab this line, then jump onto the facebook page and show us what you've made!
I hope you have a scrappy!

Child's Play w/ Moxxie

Can you believe it's July already? This summer is flying by!
We've been doing a lot of softball, T-ball and baseball. Sometimes it gets a bit hectic getting everyone where they need to be when they need to be there, but I sure do love watching my kids play ball!
A bit of backyard ball is great too, even if it involves a much bigger ball. lol I just love watching the kids run and play.

I used the Moxxie Child's Play line for this layout. It was perfect! I actually started with the 'playground pals' sticker and went from there. I picked out a sketch from Nuts About sketches and some photos and went to work.
I used a lot of the stickers and diecuts from the line and just a bit of pp.

I love all the options you have with these die-cuts and stickers. I used this 12x12 border sticker under my banner title by cutting it down a bit and then took the leftover piece and cut the little beach balls out for more accents on my layout.
Go ahead and cut it, you will love the results!
Pick up this awesome line from the Speedy Scrappers store and show us what you create on the facebook page.
Happy Scrapping!
