We Are Family

Hey there! I've got my Nuts About Sketches layout here to share with you.

I made quite a few changes to the sketch. To see the sketch go here, it's #219.
I turned it 1/4 turn to the left to have the journaling at the bottom and then had to move the title to the top since I went with an 8x10 photo instead of the 5x7 and 2- 3 1/4x3 1/4.

I used Bo Bunny's Alora line. I actually fussy  cut the 3 flowers and bird house out of the background paper and tucked the photo under them. Then added layered chipboard, cs stickers, buttons and stick pins to embellish. Added my journaling and title with alpha stickers, hand stitched around the edge of the layout and through the center of the title and stamped the date.

Thanks for stopping by for a look. Love "seeing" you here! :)Ange

June Homecoming challenge

I started out with Scrap Our Stash as a reader submitting, a little more than a year ago. I love the challenges there and that there was a fun place encouraging us to use up our precious stash on even more precious layouts and projects.
This was my first project after being invited to join the dt.

I still love looking at it. That little guy makes me smile even when he's getting into all kinds of trouble. I do have to admit that I sometimes wish he was a little less mobile now, more like in this photo where he was still crawling. They get into less then.

Not a lot has changed with me in the last year but I do feel like my life has gotten on a race track or something. My oldest is going to start highschool this fall and we've had a crazy month busy with sports and many other activities already. Not sure I'm ready for highschool.

In the scrapping area I have made my first manufacturing design team as a Moxxie Muse. I've been at it for a month and am thoroughly enjoying every minute. Here's is my project I turned in for consideration for the team:

This photo originally had much more background area but I cropped it out, to focus just on my son and his sweet little hand reaching. (same cutie as above)

I'm looking forward to many more fun challenges at Scrap Our Stash and hope to see all of you readers submit and join in the scrappiness! :)Ange

Crazy Monday

And Nutty too. Here's my layout based on today's Nuts sketch:

Photos of my son's first day riding his bike. He caught on so quickly!  I was proud and disappointed all at the same time. They grow up way too quick.

I followed the sketch quite closely and used the Scraptastic June kit again. This is such a fun, bright kit. Loving it!

You can see what the rest of the dt did with this sketch here. Thanks for stopping by and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment. :)Ange

Moxxie fun

Hey everyone!
I don't know about you but June has been one crazy whirlwind month for me so far. We've been running from softball to baseball to play practices to volleyball and then we threw in a little dance for good measure. I love all of these activities and watching my kids enjoy them, but it has definitely made me a little dizzy. So, now that my excuses are in place I want to catch you up on some scrappy stuff I've been doing.
We'll start off with this week's NAS sketch layout. I might have mentioned I'm not big on 2 page layouts, so to be honest I was planning to skip this sketch but I am SO glad I didn't! Check out what I came up with:
I absolutely LOVE this layout! This is my littlest, Jayse, at our local carnival last year, enjoying all the fun rides with different family members. I really loved these photos and was happy with how they turned out. So I had to have the perfect papers for this lo right? Enter Moxxie Midway Madness! This line is PERFECT!!
You can see that I pretty much just followed the sketch using pattern papers, cardstock element & border stickers and die-cuts from the Moxxie line. I did border punch the white cs and ink with turquoise and then inked all my pp's with black, including my journaling strips. I've also used some pop-dots on some of the journaling strips and the title to make it a little more fun. Then I found this cute little package of 3D carnival stickers that I picked up somewhere at some point and put them to good use. Last I added the border along the top with staples. Easy and fun!

I have two more Moxxie projects to share with you. First this cute layout of my daughter trying to get my attention when I was taking photos of the other kids on the swings. She wanted to be in on the photo fun too, so she came up with her own move and did a "mommy, look at me". lol She is so fun!

Here I used the Moxxie Child's Play line. I used the back of Walk in the Park, which was really hard because the front is SO cute, but it was just what I needed. Then I cut down my photos to focus on my daughter and really distressed the edges, I added the cute border stickers and placed the photos, made my pinwheels from the It's a Breeze paper, placed them and added the dots from the sticker sheet and their 'sticks' are cut from a border sticker. I layered and pop-dotted the Joy at the top and placed the title (that sticker quote was the inspiration for this entire layout!), hand drew the wavy lines for journaling and then journaled. Then added the little banner under the journaling, the tab to the photo and a little doodling for a bit more interest.

Next I have a father's day card for you. I used the Moxxie Hole in One line for this.

First I measured an envelope I had on hand so I knew the dimensions to use for the card. I cut the paper down to size and used a wavy edge cutter for the front flap. I wanted the Golf is Life sticker for the front but it was a bit long so I snipped bits off each side with my scissors to make it fit, then layered it with pop-dots onto the fun die-cut. I also added some cute element stickers to the front.

For the inside I cut a small banner from pp, added the fun die-cut quote, stamped the happy fathers day, added it with pop-dots and finished it off with the cute golf ball die-cut in the corner. This card is perfect for my dad because lately he's been using golf analogies for almost every subject we've chatted about. Plus, he likes golfing. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I would love for you to become a follower and leave a comment. Don't forget to check out the rest of the NAS dt layouts here and you can see even more, awesome Moxxie examples on their blog here or their facebook page here. :)Ange

Best Friends

It's Monday and I have another layout based on one of Shawn's awesome sketches, check  it out (you can find the sketch here):

These are photos of my daughter and one of her friends from a visit they recently had with each other. I just love the joy in their faces. We were so sad when this friend had to move away but so happy that we still get to visit with them now and then.

I used the Scraptastic Club's June kit called Oh Snap, you can find it here.  LOVE these bright fun papers from American Crafts!! This layout was a blast to put together.
