Happy Halloween!

Love me some Halloween, it's just such a fun holiday! So when I realized that this week's NAS sketch was going to be released on Halloween I had to find some appropriate pics to scrap (plus it went with this weeks TPV challenge!). These are pics from 2yrs ago Halloween.

My cute little Spooks in their costumes and my brother's family with my mom all dressed for the occasion.

I wanted to keep the pics of my kids long so you could see their whole outfits. That made the lo a little busy so I kept the embellishing to a minimum. Just paper alphas, two bats that I added yellow cs to the back of and bling into the centers of the O's in Spooks. I also inked my edges with charcoal ink.

Everything is from the October TSS kit except the round alphas and #'s and the paper line is AC Nightfall.

Here's the sketch:

Have a fun and safe Halloween!!

Rats, Bats

and Dog Poop!
That is what my dad always teaches his little grand kids to say. Just the other day my oldest, who is now 13, told me that she can't help but think "Dog Poop" after hearing "Rats, Bats &". Which, I'm sure, is the desired effect my father was after. What a funny man.

So this month's challenge at Scrap Our Stash is to create a lo or project using a favorite quote. I don't generally use quotes in my scrapping, but I'm not against it. It is a tad time consuming to find one that has meaning to me tho. Which is why I chose to quote my father and tell this story. But it worked out that this old kit I had in my stash had a fitting quote sticker for the lo too. I used it in the bottom right corner; "We do not quit playing because we grow old. We grow old because we quit playing." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

There's still time for you to join in October's quote challenge and send it in. Go check out the details here.

Spirit Week

Yesterday's NAS sketch was a 2 pager. I chose to do the left side, here's my layout:

It's all about the fun things my daughter did and wore to school for homecoming week. She had a lot of fun!

I had more photos than what the left side of the sketch called for but they were ones I wanted to crop down. I used the June TSS kit with Basic Grey Lauderdale. I inked all my edges with charcoal and used up lots of scraps. I also had a 2nd angle photo of my daughter's hair that I wanted to include but didn't think it needed to be part of the original design, so I made a flip tab and added it underneath.

And here's the sketch.

Don't forget to go to the NAS blog and check out what the rest of the dt did. Have a great day!

A little bit of Heaven

I have another awesome NAS sketch for you today! Here is the layout I created based on the sketch:

This was the 2nd day of school for the older kids this year, so when Jayse saw the bus leave he knew it was going to be a long time before his brother and sisters came back home. It made him pretty sad, so we hooked him up with a fun rally car game. He loved being in charge for a change. :)

This was an old kit out of my stash, but it had lots of fun game type embellishments, so I thought it would work great with these photos. The papers were all too busy to be the circle of journaling tho and I didn't want to look for another matching cardstock, which is why I went with the outlined circle. Totally love how it turned out. I inked everything with brown, moss green or blue ink and finished it all off with dots of stickles.

Here's the sketch I used, but don't forget to go check out the rest of the DT examples here.

T-I double G Rrr

I totally love this weeks Nuts sketch. The first thing I thought was "which side do I use" because they both looked great for single page layouts. But here is what I did:
I haven't added the journaling yet, but I plan to do paper strips over the ghosts, right where it shows the journaling in the sketch. These photos are all of my youngest at Halloween last year. He looked so cute and had so much fun running up to the houses and getting candy with the other kids. He and I came home early and he LOVED opening the door every time the bell rang. Of course his very favorite part was the candy and mine was that I could get him to roar now and then.
I had a lot of fun putting this sketch together and using my new October TSS kit. You can find one in the store here. It has American Crafts Night Fall line, totally fab! It's such an awesome kit!! Plus I used this lo to do Aimee's TSS dt challenge "gettin down and dirty". Which was to ink as much as you can. I think I did pretty good. lol

This sketch is so easy to follow and change where you need to for your photos. I can see a lot of different layouts coming from this sketch. I think I'll use it over and over again. Here it is:

Obsessed Much?

This weeks NAS sketch is da bomb! I can totally see myself doing this one again and again. For this lo I turned it and then flipped it to fit my photos.

This lo is about my son and his obsession with hats, helmets and anything remotely resembling something that will fit on his head. He saw this crowned crane at the zoo and decided it must have a cool hat on. You can see him patting his head in one of the photos. What a funny boy.

Here I used an older TSS kit with Fancy Pants Like Father like Son line. I ran my photos along the edge of my scissors to give them a slight white edge, added ribbon out of my stash (used the back side of the ribbon, the other side is striped in multiple colors), stapled the ribbon down, all of my straight pp edges are inked with charcoal ink. I left the torn edges white to have more contrast. Add your buttons, metal embellies w/ brads, pearl bling and circles hand cut from the pp and you've got a lo. I even use a hand cut circle for the dot under the ?

And here's the sketch, but don't forget to go to the blog and see the rest of the awesome DT designs!

Have a great day! :)Ange
