Scrap Your Stash August challenge

My first official post as a Scrap Your Stash dt member! The challenge for August was to re-do a layout from your early scrapping days.

My style has changed and evolved throughout the years. I know that were I to re-do one of my layouts it would probably end up nothing like the original, but for me that's part of the charm of my older layouts. I like to see where I've changed and grown. :)
So rather than re-do a layout I decided to use some of the elements from an older layout for one I would do now. I essentially scrap lifted myself.
So here's my first lo.

I did 8.5x11 back in the day. So I used that smaller size only for a horizontal layout. This lo is about my now 9yr old daughter and her love of reading when she was little.

Here's my new layout.

I basically kept the same design and used one of my favorite techniques DOODLING! Love it, but don't do it nearly enough anymore.
This lo is about my little man and the fun he had with his new turtle pool toy, even tho we weren't in the pool anymore.

I hope you play along in the last few days of this month and have fun re-doing a layout or two of your own. If you'd like to submit your lo you can find all the details here on the blog. Come check out everyone's entries, you'll like what you see.

Today I have another NAS sketch reveal for you. I was a bit late getting mine done so it didn't make it into the original blog post, but you can find the sketch here.

My lil man is ALL about hats of any and all kinds. If he can make it stay on his head it's a "at!"

This is my first lo with Fancy Pants' new Summer's End line. Isn't it cute? I won it from their blog!! I see many cute lo's to come with this line.
Here I used 2 of their pp's for the background. I inked both of them with a dark brown and then used a charcoal ink for the 'matte' of the main photo. I just marked lightly with a pencil where I wanted the photo to go and then inked the paper before attaching the photo. I pretty much kept with the design of the sketch, but instead of stitching along the bottom of the top layered pp, I added another line of journaling. I also drew some stitching around the top blue heart and underlined some words in the the journaling to help them pop more. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Baby Love

Monday's NAS sketch was a 2 pager, but I chose to use just the left side of the sketch and make a one page layout.

I absolutely love it when my son cuddles and takes care of his sister's baby dolls. So I snapped a couple pics of him loving on this baby doll once and that's what this lo is all about.

I used a white cs background and a random baby kit that was given to me for mother's day. Then added some stickers from another baby kit I had just bits left from and a sticker sheet I picked up at Hobby Lobby forever ago. The dotted ribbon has been in my stash for an embarrassing amount of time. :) I used a border punch on the green paper and cut it with a wavy cutter blade. Then backed it with blue to help the stars pop. I also inked them before adhering them to the page. The stickers for the title portion of the page needed a little more pop, so I hand drew stitches around the circles and drew the frame around the 'baby love' sticker. Thanks for stopping by. :)

Hun, hun, hun!

I know I'm super slow posting this, but it has been one crazy busy week and I wanted to get a better photo of this layout before I posted it. The one posted on the NAS website is a little yellow because of bad lighting. So here you go, my lo based on Monday's sketch:

As a family we've spent a ton of time at the ball parks this year. Jayse really got into the cheering and clapping. In these photos he was yelling at the players. One of his favorite things to yell was "Hun, hun, hun!", his version of RUN. :) What a cutie.

Here I used the backsides of some Pink Paislee I recently won from the CK blog (woohoo!) along with the circle, starred borders. Then I added some random baseball stickers I've picked up here and there. Many of the items were not sticking well, so I stapled quite a few and used black ink around my paper edges.

Feel free to leave me a comment and follow my blog if you like what you see. Thanks for stopping by! :)Ange
