Soccer or Pose layout

This little guy melts my heart!
(My older kids tell me all the time it is very cold, so I'm guessing this is hard to do)

He's such a character! He noticed I had the camera out and stopped long enough to pose for me. Yes, he does this on the field in the middle of a game too. lol I have to be careful and hope that he doesn't notice me at a "crucial" time in the game.

I used a really pretty lemon line from Simple Stories for this layout. Not exactly your first pick for a soccer layout but the colors were perfect and I knew if I added the right embellishments it would work.

That's when I break out all my stickers and rub-ons leftover from soccer lines and these awesome wood veneer soccer balls from Creative Embellishments.
The perfect soccer layout for my little poser.

The Story Goes layout

 Hello and welcome!

Today's challenge from Scrap Our Stash is a sketch challenge:

Super great sketch but I almost forgot the photo corners!

As you can see I changed up the placement of my photos to fit one more and the story I wanted to tell, but I kept the basic background layout and I really like who it turned out.
Don't forget the photo corners!
I cut mine out myself from a solid green back of a patterned paper that was scrap piece.

Of course the story isn't an awesome one but no human was hurt and the deer didn't suffer. It was a bit traumatic for my daughter, but she's definitely a more aware driver based on her experience this day.
Sometimes you can't avoid a situation so you do the best with it that you can.

I hope you're all having a wonderful January and keeping warm!

Frozen Wonderland layout

Hello, hello!

I'm back today with another layout showcasing Creative Embellishments products.

I really layered them on with this layout.
My title is 2 of the words from the Snow Word Set. I used a chalk marker on the Frozen and then blue liquid pearls on Wonderland.

To move the eye along my title I added some Frosted Blue Acrylic Snowflakes and the let it snow flair from the Winter Flair set.

Adding this chipboard corner piece from the Snowflake Page Corner Set was perfect for this layout! I really like leaving my chipboard naked when it goes with my layout and this was one of those times. I wanted to highlight some aspects of it but the rest was perfect as is. The big snowflake in the corner has stickles on it and the flourishes coming off of it have white liquid pearls.
After finishing that it was just a matter of little details like more and more Frosted Blue Acrylic Snowflakes! Love them!!

I used black ink around my paper pieces and the entire layout and a black cardstock to matte my main photo to keep the focus on it as the main element.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy New Year layout

 Hello!

I'm super excited to be starting my term as a DT member at Creative Embellishments!

I'm starting out with a fun and easy layout.

I used a couple photos from New Year's with my kids doing the countdown to the new year.
They love that moment (like most people) when you get to do the countdown and yell happy new year, along with firing off these confetti poppers.

So for my title I used Creative Embellishment's New Year word strip from the New Year Border Word Set. I used a chalk marker to color the words new & year and then a regular red marker for the heart between them. It really helped my title pop off my busy and dark background paper.

I had a lot of fun adding details to this layout. Using up some old thickers doing my countdown along the side of the layout was fun. I also used some washi tape, enamel dots and thicker dots among other embellishments.

Winter photos layout

Today's challenge is from Sketches In Thyme.
Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I turned the sketch to fit the orientation of my photos.
These are some photos my daughter took, practicing her photo skills and enjoying the beauty that only winter and cold can create.
I tried to keep my layout simple so the focus would stay on the photos but I'm guessing I could have loaded it up and those photos would have still stood out. Just beautiful.

Thanks for stopping in!

Decking layout and new challenge

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I hope you have had a wonderful start to your new year and are ready to jump in and make it great!
I'm excited to see what it has to offer and how I can make it one of the best ever.

Today I'm sharing a layout I made for Scrap Our Stash.
I love that she's changes up the challenges every now and then to keep it fresh so when I saw this Wheel of Challenge I was super excited.
Our first challenge is a recipe challenge.

Use  ONE word title
TWO photos
THREE Embellishment clusters
FOUR Patterned Papers
FIVE enamel/puffy dots, jewels or sequins

Here's my layout:

I love this challenge wheel and love recipe challenges so I was very happy with our first challenge this month.
Oddly enough the One word title ended up being a bit of a challenge but I think I pulled it off. 2 photos on a layout is my go to so that was pretty easy. 3 embellishment clusters is perfect for nearly any layout and just organizing how I wanted my patterned papers was the only "hard" part there. But I'll admit, limiting myself to 5 enamel dots was difficult! lol
Love this girl and how willing she is to always step up and help out. I do think she really enjoys a decorated house so she's out there pretty quick and loves spending time with her dad.
