What a Hoot! w/ NAS & Moxxie

Hello! I have a fun one for you today! First let me show you the sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

Amazing right? And here is my layout:

Love this sweet little girl! This was her 11th birthday and she made that awesome owl cake herself.

I had so much fun with this layout. As you can see I stuck really close to the sketch and I used the awesome Forever Fall collection from Moxxie. Perfect combination for a great layout!

Since my little girl is all about the owls lately, I had to use as many as I could. I love the owls in the Forever fall collection and put them to good use. Here I used the little circle owl and some fun owl washi tape I picked up back to school shopping for the kids (always scrappy shopping right?).

I also found some fun buttons to add and used my orange and brown liquid pearls to spruce things up a bit w/o detracting from the photos.

My favorite part, the fun title! I love this rub-on title from Moxxie, it was perfect for this layout. As you can see here I started with a kraft background, spritzed a little brown and orange mist on it and away I went.

Thanks so much for dropping in today! :)Ange

Table Decor Pumpkins w/ Moxxie

Hi I have a fun and super quick project to share with you today. The holidays are sneaking up on us quickly and these adorable little pumpkins are the perfect center piece for your Thanksgiving spread.

I've seen a few different ideas for these around the internet, but they are super easy to make and change to suit your purpose.
For the larger pumpkin I cut 2 12x12 papers into strips about 9x7/8 inch, inked them and then, with the papers stacked, put a brad through each end (I used a whole punch to make it easier), fan them around until you have your pumpkin. Then cut some scraps into super thin pieces, curl them up and add them for "vines" and a wider scrap rolled for the "stem". You could also add leaves and/or tags or whatever makes you smile. The bigger your pumpkin the more strips needed to make it full, I probably used around 20 strips for the larger pumpkin.

For the smaller pumpkins; I used 14 strips 6.5x7/8 for the medium one and around 12 strips 5.5x7/8 for the smallest one. Here's a closeup for you:

My 4yr old son kept asking me if there was candy inside. Not a bad idea!
I plan to let these decorate my table all month, so maybe I will hide a little treat in there at some point.

Happy Fall Y'all! :)Ange

Supplies:
Ranger - vintage distress ink (I bought this at the last Expo)
Glue dots in small and medium (also available at the Expo)

Thankful

Today's sketch is a 2 pager with lots of room for photos. I chose to use the left side of the sketch and still got 5 photos on my page! Here's the sketch:

See? Great sketch! Using the left side, this is what I did:

We did Thanksgiving in Montana last year with my husband's side of the family. It was a very busy and fun weekend and there was definitely no shortage of good food!

I used the November Scraptastic kit. I also ordered the extra wood veneers and I had so much fun coloring them with my markers.

The shadow under the title "thankful" is just that, a shadow. lol There was just enough light coming through the clouds to leave a shadow, but not glare off the photos when I took the picture of my layout. If you have any questions please leave them in the comments and I'll get back to you.
Thanks for stopping by! :)Ange

Pumpkin table decor w/ Moxxie

Before we get started on my project. I want you to know that you can WIN this entire line on the Moxxie blog this week!

Woohoooo! Don't miss out. All the details are on the blog.

Now for my project. I made some fun & easy pumpkin table decor for you today:

I've seen a few different ideas for these around the internet, but they are super easy to make and change to suit your purpose.
For the larger pumpkin I cut Moxxie's Foilage paper into strips about 9x7/8 inch, inked them and then put a brad through each end (I used a whole punch to make it easier) with the papers stacked, fan them around until you have your pumpkin.

For the smaller pumpkins I used 14 strips 6.5x7/8 for the medium one and around 12 strips 5.5x7/8 for the smallest one. The 2 smaller pumpkins are the A & B sides of Unbe-leaf-able. Here's a closeup for you:

My 4yr old son kept asking me if there was candy inside. Not a bad idea!
I plan to let these decorate my table all month, so maybe I will hide a little treat in there at some point.

Don't forget to go comment on the Moxxie blog for your chance to win this beautiful line.
Happy Fall Y'all! :)Ange

B-day layout & a sketch

Just a quick layout and sketch for you today. Here's the sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

Lots of fun photos on this sketch. The photos I decided to use for this layout were ones that I wanted to keep a little bigger than what was called for. So I just adjusted it as needed.

Last year for my birthday, my husband helped the kids make cake pops. They had so much fun! And I believe I enjoyed a little bit of "Moooommm!" free scrapbook time. :)

I kept the same title and journaling area and just had fun adding embellishments here and there.

I used a kit from Scraptastic club and challenge from an online crop at My Scraps and More.
Thanks,
Ange
