Happy Halloween w/ Carta Bella

Going back to Halloween today.
I have this fun and cool layout I made using a sketch from Nuts About Sketches:

I used a kit from Memorable Seasons with Carta Bella's Spooky line.

My husband carved a really cool pumpkin this year and it was the perfect photo for a fun, spooky layout like this.

I started by dripping dylusions mists on my kraft background. I used orange and black and then lifted the paper and tapped it on my table to get the ink to run more.

I followed the sketch pretty closely using the fun stickers from the line and then added the awesome skull washi tape.

But I think my favorite part was how I used the ribbon that was sent with the kit as spider webs!
I attached my photo & mats with foam adhesive for dimension, so I just attached the ribbon to the back of that and then twisted it down to wear I wanted the spiders to hang. I hooked the ribbon with glue dots and then put the spiders over them. The one in the middle is attached with foam adhesive.

This is probably one of my more favorite layouts I made this fall/winter.

All Things Green dt reveal w/ JI Kreaxions

 Hello!
Thanks for stopping by for my first DT reveal with Just Imagine Crafts, Kreaxions punches!
This is a once a month project and today's theme is:

All Things Green!

Here is what I came up with for today:

I totally love Punch 901 from Kreaxions! The butterfly is just so fun to play with and goes wonderfully with the Springtime line from Moxxie.
I started with a white cs base and then added the green pattern paper after punching the corners with punch 901 & C insert.

I used Punch 311 for the border under my sentiment. I lined the paper up in the punch with no inserts, punched the design as closely as I could without overlapping, then cut my stamped & stickled sentiment pp to fit over the flower design that was above the border edge that I wanted.

As you can see edging the pieces with dark green ink really makes the designs pop off the card. Last I added the punched out butterflies for embellishment and a bit of pink liquid pearls to the negative butterflies in the corners. The liquid pearled butterflies add a lot to the design and it was so easy to do.

Make sure you jump over to the Just Imagine Crafts Blog to see what my fellow dt members have created for their All Things Green reveal!
Thanks!

Take Time w/ Love My Tapes & Moxxie

Hello, happy Wednesday to you!
One of my favorite projects is decorating these composition notebooks that you can pick up during the back-to-school sales.

It's super easy and fun. Here's my latest one:

Fun right?!
Just measure the front cover, cut your paper and glue it with Mod-Podge.
 Then have fun decorating!

I used Love My Tapes and the Springtime line from Moxxie.

I started with the awesome Clouds with Love tape, adding it in strips of different lengths to give it a cloud feel. Then I added a fussy cut butterfly sticker to give it some whimsical fun.

The Diamond tape in Hot Pink was perfect for the binding. I added two layers to make it a bit bolder and to help cover the small gap I had between the black tape and my cover paper. I finished it up with a sentiment that came on the Springtime cutouts paper. Just add a bit of ink to help it stand out.

No more boring black cover, but something fun and useful.

little Angel w/ Carta Bella

Here's a fun layout I didn't get posted back in December.

It was for a pie challenge at Memorable Seasons, so that's why I have the pie graph of papers on the layout. I used Carta Bella's Chirstmas Time line and this fun photo of my little guy adding the angel to the top of the tree.

The kits we received from Memorable Seasons always had at least 2 strips of ribbon in them. I'm not a big ribbon fan, but had fun finding different ways to incorporate them into my layouts.

My alphas weren't the right color so I added some ink to make them match the layout. I also distressed the edges of my pie papers for a fun look. I also added my own bling shine to the top of my paper tree.

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoo w/ MS&M & Bo Bunny

Hello, it's My Scraps & More Sketches Friday!
I promise, you are going to LOVE today's sketch.
Let's start with my take on the sketch:

I won the new Bo Bunny Safari line, so of course I had to dig in as soon as I could. It was perfect for photos I have from a visit to the zoo. My son had a rare quiet moment at the zoo face to face with this Mara. I'm not sure what he was thinking but he was really quiet and just sat there for longer than you would expect any young boy to sit. It was really cute.

I stayed pretty close to the sketch with most of my layout, popping up things here and there with foam adhesives.

Bo Bunny sent me the entire line so I had fun mixing all of the different embellishments on this page. The film strip along the bottom was one of my favorite details. I love that they're bringing GOOD rub-ons back. I've had some really bad ones, but I've always loved rub-ons when they apply easily. These were great!

Hanging the banners and flag at the top was another place I detoured from the sketch, but I really like the way this layout turned out and can totally see using this sketch it again.

Here's the sketch:

Swing over to the My Scraps & More Sketches site to see what the other dt members did with their takes on this sketch and then play along and enter your own layout!

Got Mud? w/ Love My Tapes & Moxxie

Hi! Did you see my first project on the Love My Tapes blog?
Well, in case  you missed it, here it is again.

Got Mud?
We live in Idaho, so the closest thing we have to a beach is a little less sandy and a bit more muddy, but it's still a great place to take the kids in the summer.
I started with a plain white background, added some misting and my mud paper from Moxxie, then got busy with my brand NEW tapes!!
I started with a mat for my photo. I used Black Roses to make a frame under the photo.

I knew I had this fun yellow stripes tape so I planned to add a sun with rays in the upper corner. I just tore off a piece of tape, then cut it lengthwise and randomly added the pieces over the yellow misted area. Some were a little longer than I wanted so I just tore a bit off. Then I added my sun with foam adhesive to pop it off.

For my clouds I actually pulled out a chipboard cloud I've had hanging around for way too long. One side was colorfully decorated and the other was a plain blue. I took the strips of Clouds with Love tape and layered them onto the blue side of the cloud. Then I just trimmed the edges with my scissors. After deciding I needed more clouds, I layered the tape onto some scrap paper and then did my best to cut out clouds that "matched".

Last I cut individual cameras from the Camera tape and then pieces of the Colorful Chevron tape to use on my layout for direction. This is my favorite way to use chevron designs!
I used the double sided adhesive tape on my entire layout and I really love how it rolls on, it holds really well too.

Here's a quick photo of all the fun tapes I got.
I can't wait to create more with them!!

I think I may need to put in an order too. I already want more. lol

2 cards w/ Kreaxions & Moxxie

I am super excited to announce that I've joined the Just Imagine Kreaxions punch team!
My first post went up over the weekend and now I wanted to share here.

I have 2 cards for you.

This first card is a baby card, but with St. Patty's right around the corner I thought it would be fun to give it a "lucky" theme. I started with a white cardstock background, then used the Kreaxions #311 punch along the top and bottom of the green paper from Moxxie's Winery line, after I splattered it with a bit of green mist. I did the corner punches first, then, eyeballing it, I could tell that I wouldn't have room for 3 full punches across, but I didn't want to leave a ton of space along there either. So I decided to use the dots on either side of the flower to help me line up the punches to fit 3 along each end. Just turn the punch upside down, start in the middle and work your way out.

Next I used the wood grain pattern under my sentiment block. I used Kreaxions #901 Butterfly punch for this. I didn't use any of the positioning pieces. Again I just turned the punch upside down to see where I was punching my paper. Then, because I just wanted that fun pointed border for this card I covered the butterfly and bursts with the lighter green sentiment block.
From there I hand cut some hearts to make a clover, then added some Moxxie alphas and stamped my sentiment.

Next I have a birthday card for you. Using the same Winery line and white cs base, I used Kreaxions #309 punch along the bottom of the green pp.

I added some purple inking around the papers to make them pop a little more and even inked the flower punch outs from the back a bit to make them pop a little more.
I finished up with some stickers & barcode strip from the line and then added the fun stamp sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Spooky w/ washi tapes

Here's a fun layout I made around Halloween for a washi tape challenge, but never got the chance to post here.

I'm a huge washi tape fan! It's just so fun and easy to use. For this challenge I tried to get as much on my layout as I could w/o overwhelming the photos.

In the photos above and below you can see that I've used it to frame my photos and the entire layout. I like the finished look that a border gives a layout, so having the tape go all around my layout was an easy way to use it for me.

When using it to frame your photos you can layer the tape and then put the photo over the top or put the photo down and then use the tape to hold your photo in place. Both ways are really fun.

Last I used this fun spiderweb tape as a base for my title.
My son was actually calling himself Achmed (if you're not sure who that is look up comedian Jeff Dunham) because he was a skeleton. It was the funniest thing ever. This kid is constantly cracking us up. I just hope his teachers think he's as funny as we do!

Hello 4 step lo

I have a fun layout for you today!
A little while back we did a fun challenge on the Memorable Seasons board called progressive challenge. Each member of the dt gave steps to create a layout. Today I wanted to show you the layout I made using those steps.

This is what I started with.

Then I added stickers to my cut out hearts, twine and fabric strips behind my photo.

Here I cut some bold chevrons to add behind the photo and added more details to the hearts. Then I fussy cut some of the title out to tuck the photo under, wrapped the twine around the photo and put a little more detail into the title.

This is the finished layout.
I added an overlay to the photo, some penwork details to the hearts & layout border and a few more embellishing details.

This was a fun challenge if you can be patient enough to wait for the steps. lol

Moxxie Sports Madness Hop!

Hey there! Welcome to the Moxxie Sports Hop!
(If you're looking for the My Scraps & More reveal scroll to the next post)

I'm the last stop on the hop today so if you're looking for the beginning head over to the Moxxie blog.

I'm using the awesome Fun Run line!

And here is my layout:

My husband ran in a race called Epic, but I never got any photos of him running. I did get photos of his cheerleaders tho. So I used this awesome line to scrap them.

This layout was so fun to put together. I started with a white cs base, added some alphas for my title and then used some bright mists to color it up. Adding the Epic stamp to the title came as an after thought. It was so empty it just needed something more.

The stickers and cut out sheets in this line are so cool. This quote totally fit this race, because it really was all about "doing" it.

The bright colors in the line went perfect with the way my kids decorated their poster.
My oldest looked at this layout and said "Now that is cool!"
Teenaged approval is really what it's all about right? ;)

Happy w/ My Scraps & More sketches

This is my first reveal with My Scraps & More sketches!
I'm very excited to be on their new sketch team.
They reveal 2 new sketches each month and offer a fantastic prize to one participant.
Jump over, check out the sketches, play along, get some pages done and maybe win a prize. Doesn't get better than that right?
Here is my layout for this first reveal:

My younger daughter is in 2 different competing dance classes, so I get a lot of dance photos. I love watching her because she's always having so much fun!

I started with a white cardstock back ground and added some misting. It's actually a plum color with a shimmer to it, but I thought it would look great with all the pinks I was planning to use.

I used Bella Blvd's Lucky Starz to add the pp behind the photos and I also fussy cut some of the stars for embellishing. Then I added lots of the fun stickers here and there, kind of following the sketch. I inked the stickers and pps with black ink where I could to help them pop cleanly off the white back ground.

For the title area I added some Bella tape and just pleated it up as I went. Then I used some Moxxie alphas and outlined them with a glittery pink pen I have.
I finished it all off with some white sequins that had a bit of a pink shimmer to them and some pink liquid pearls.

Here's the sketch:

As you can see I added a 3rd photo where the large circle is and I think it turned out great.
Jump over the the blog and play along.

Happy News and a couple of cards

I have some fun news to announce today!
I have joined the new My Scraps & More Sketches team!!
I am super excited to be a part of this team and can't wait for the first sketch reveal this Friday.
Make sure you come back and check it out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Now I want to share a couple of cards I made recently.

I used Bella Blvd's fun Lucky Starz collection for this card. I layered the papers under the sentiment, added some chevron washi tape, the star banner and some punched stars and liquid pearls for accents.

The base of this card is white card stock with Family Forever and bits from Lucky Starz & Christmas Cheer. I used 2 different border punches on this (this is where I got the stars for the previous card), layered the papers for the sentiment and then added some extras stars that were stamped and cut out, along with a star pin. I finished by outlining a few of the cut out stars along the bottom to make the design pop more.

Thanks for stopping by today!
