I don't know what May is like for most of you, but I know it gets kind of crazy around here. Between birthdays, graduations, end of school projects and the start of softball/baseball season(YAY!), I go just a lot bit nuts. :) So I have a few projects I need to post for you.
We'll start with Monday's Nuts About Sketches reveal. It was a 2 page lo, but I used the left side and went for it:
This lo is about Easter egg hunting in our backyard and my oldest daughter's inability to look for things. Yes, she's been this way since she was a toddler.
I combined two different alphas for the title because I didn't have enough e's and g's in just one pack. I wanted to pop the journaling a little so I did an extra patterned paper scallop strip and stuck it under the journaling at the bottom. The pink egg border is the sticky backed felt fusion from Queen and Co. and the papers are some older Making Memories. I added an oval of bling around the egg in one photo to highlight it a little. Then I blinged up the rest of the lo and doodled some of my edges.
Next up are two sketches from What's Scrapping. Today they posted a card sketch. Here's my take on it:
This was another really easy card to make, which is right up my alley. I just picked up some scraps off my table from a layout I just made and threw this together. I cut some squares out of the back side of the white pp to decorate the front, popped the middle one up with some dimensional foam, inked the edges of pp with brown ink and stapled the white strip down.
You can't really see it here, but the back side of this pp is a little hard to write on and since it was going to be the inside of the card, I just cut another block from the white pp and glued it in for the writing area inside. This paper line is Basic Grey's new Hopscotch. This also fills a challenge issued on the TSS board to use scraps on your table to make a card. Go check it out. They issue challenges every month to keep your creativity flowing.
This lo is for a sketch from WS posted this past Sat.
I used the Bella Blvd Family Dynamix line from the May TSS kit. I am really loving this kit! Following this sketch was a little harder for me and since my photos were horizontal I turned the sketch. When I sent my photo to Julie for posting I didn't quite feel like the lo was done, so I ended up adding a little more which is where all the stars came in. I inked my edges with a dark forest green, doodled some stars, added some green stickles dots and outlined the title with black pen to make it stand out more.
These papers you might recognize from the card I made:
I made this lo using a sketch from The Scrappiest blog. I inked all my edges with brown ink and added my journaling to the bottom of the circle because I had a photo going horizontally using up the journal block space from the sketch. I cut the u and e from the pp and popped them with pop dots. It was a quick, easy lo about my oldest and her love of art and color.
This was a just for fun lo.
Yep, I still do those now and then. Ayla is an awesome big sister who loves playing with her little brother. They have good times together.
I used the May TSS kit here, again. I used a sticker border for the banner, just cut it apart and stuck it to the string they included in the kit. The string is just stapled to the lo. Then I tied a little string around the border I added to the lo to break up the busy blue background pattern. I just got the monarch Martha Stewart butterfly punch so of course I had to use that and I added a little stickles to highlight the body. Then I doodled around the lo. Love doodling!
Thanks for coming by, hope you liked what you saw. :)
