Happy Easter w/ Moxxie

Hi! Are you ready to start thinking spring and bunnies? I know I'm looking forward to the warmer weather of spring.
Today I am showing you a layout I made using the new, totally awesome Easter-rific line from Moxxie! I LOVE this line!!! It definitely gets you in the mood for Spring.

And when I saw this gorgeous flowered paper, Think Spring, I knew it would be perfect for the 5x7 photo I had of ALL (yes all! even the 14yr old!!) of my kids with the Easter Bunny at our local hunt last year.
All of the details and closeups are on the Moxxie blog. I would love for you to stop by and check it out.
Thanks, Ange

Amazing w/ BG Capture & NAS

Hello!  I have a super cute layout using Basic Grey's Capture line & a fantastic Nuts sketch! This line is so fun. Totally built for those everyday moments that don't always fit under a particular theme. I used some photos of my husband doing pushups with one of our boys on his back and the other helping him balance. It's about the little things, right?

That sticker is what made me choose this line for these photos. Perfect! Everything you see is from the line except the ink and twine. You can see the sketch HERE. As you can see I turned it to fit with the orientation of my photos. I also added the border strip. I really look at sketches as a great starting off point to get the page going. From there if it ends up looking like the sketch great and if not, still great. lol
 Here are some closeups:

Here you can see that fun sticker at work, along with some others that I thought went well with the photos.

For my title I used the "You're so Amazing" tag sticker and backed it on another pp before adhering it with foam adhesive to give it some pop. I love the circle stickers and rings, they go well with the main design. I used sketch #302 from Nuts About Sketches for this layout. Head to their blog to see more fun examples.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mohawk Love

So, when all the hustle and bustle is over and you find yourself with an overabundance of Christmas scrapping supplies, what do you do with them? Use them of course!
Kristin asked us to make something Valentine's theme and while this isn't exactly Valentine's I figured it was pretty darn close. So here's a little Mohawk Love for you:

I started with a kraft background, put some mist on it and then added papers from DCWV's Jolly Whimsy stack. Yep, Christmas, but look how perfectly they fit into this love theme!

For the diamond mat, all I did was cut along the design of the paper. Then I cut some of the smaller diamonds out and added them to my layout for embellishment. You can see one in the closeup above popped out of the mat using foam adhesive.
I'm a washi addict and I love using it to frame my layouts. Gives it a great finished look, don't you think?

Do you have extra letter stickers leftover? Yep, the entire title is from Echo Park's Christmas Reflections line. Last I added my journaling and my date with a date stamp. (love them!) I used a sketch by Lanette Erickson from 3 Scrappy Boys for this layout.

Thanks for looking and happy scrapping!
:)Ange

DCWV - pps
Echo Park - alpha stickers
3 Scrappy Boys - sketch by Lanette Erickson
freckled fawn - washi tape
ranger - red dylusions, pink liquid pearls

On the Hunt! w/ Moxxie & NAS

Yes, it's a little early for Easter, but I just got the new Moxxie lines in my hands and I HAD to dig into Easter-rific! It's so fun and pretty!!! I am in love with the bright colors. So I had to play with it and this is what I came up with using this week's NAS sketch.

Here's the sketch:

I turned it a quarter to put the bottom of the sketch along the right side of my layout. Then I just had lots of fun adding cardstock stickers, pattern paper, a bit of washi tape and the flowers I punched out of all the fun patterns. Here's some closeups:

I plan to add my journaling onto these pretty eggs that are part of the paper design. I just forgot to before I took the photo. lol

I think the flowers with colorful glam rocks in the centers were the perfect addition to this layout.

I'm a huge fan of using these fun stickers for titles! Makes it so easy. And the green chevron is the backside of a barcode strip.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sketch 300 w/ Moxxie

Hi! I have a Nuts About Sketches layout for you today. But before we get to that, Shawn is posting her 300th sketch today! That is pretty awesome!! And I'm happy to say that I've been with her for a good majority of them.
I'm sad that I will not be a part of this next round of designers, but I will definitely be stalking her blog and gathering up all the awesome sketches! By the way, she is still running her DT call. Check out the details here.

Now for this week's sketch:

This is a fantastic 2page sketch! I really love what my fellow designers have done with it this week. Check theirs out here.
And now for mine:

I did just the left side of the sketch. I do this often with 2 page sketches because I don't always have enough photos for a 2 pager and honestly, I just prefer one page layouts.
These were the perfect photos and colors for the weather today. It is chilly! These are from last January, it was cold enough that my girls didn't want to go outside but my boys went out for a little while for a bit of sledding. They're hardcore, my boys. lol

I put my new snowflake punch to work here on this fun Moxxie Winterland paper and then added a strip of dark purple to the middle, layered the awesome die-cuts on top and then used the snowflakes here and there.

I don't have a hexagon punch, but I really loved the look of them in the sketch design. Cool thing is that Moxxie has these little snowflake squares in their die-cut sheet. So I popped a bunch of them out and added then in a similar design as what the sketch had. I love the way it turned out. Super fun!
I finished up by adding a couple cardstock stickers, a bit of stickles and my journaling with a white pen. I also inked every edge I could find with dark purple ink. Love inking!

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you like what you see, become a follower so you can find me again. :)Ange

Christmas Magic details

As promised. Here is my post with detail shots of my Christmas Magic layout.

It never hurts to start with a good photo. This one was not awesome. There were people in the background and the greenish-brown grass was definitely a distraction. So I put my photo editor to work and left Santa and my son as the main focus. Here's the original photo:

You can see where I edited the photo, but turning the background black and white helped a lot. I just love these photos where the focus is all about the conversation between the people in it. You can almost hear Santa asking my son what he wants for Christmas.

The dominant color in the photo after editing was red, so I tried to really stick with that in my layout. These fun wood veneers were perfect and that little deer just stole my heart. My son was actually painted up to be a reindeer in the parade right before he sad on Santa's lap. So perfect!

I knew when I saw this wood title that it was the title for my layout. I love a little magic around Christmas. I wanted some journaling on this layout, but didn't want to distract from the photo and elegant feel of the layout. So I added the journaling to a tag and tucked it behind my photo.

This banner was a fun addition. I used some chipboard jingle bells and more of those awesome wood veneers. Then finished up with some gold liquid pearls here and there. You can also see where I did some inking in red on the pps and white on the red mat.

I just love the way this layout turned out. So fun and magical.
Thanks for stopping by!
