Snowday w/ Moxxie & NAS

It is getting chilly out there!
I have the perfect layout for a chilly day.

I based it on this layout from Nuts About Sketches.

I just turned it to fit the orientation of my photos.
These papers from Moxxie's Winterland collection were perfect for my chilly snow photos.
So I had to use a few of them. I used Slip Slidin' as my base then layered a border of Frozen around the outside of the layout. I tore the inside of Frozen out and used it for the fun snowflake embellies.

In the upper left corner you could still see a bit of the sled peeking out so I used some of the awesome die-cuts from the line to cover that and for some great decoration.

The hexagons from Snow Buddy are perfect for cutting and embellishing.

I stuck with the sketch for the placement of the journaling, but took the strip that would have been along the left side of my layout and moved it to along the bottom. This is the barcode strip from Frozen, I love having it popping off the page like that. So fun!
Thanks for stopping by today.
Oh and if you're interested you can WIN this line on the Moxxie page HERE.
Hope you stay warm!

Fun! w/ Carta Bella

 Hello!
I hope you've been enjoying some family time this week.
We sure have! Love all busy together time we get this time of year and I especially love the creative fun we have together at home.

Today I want to share a photo of my kidlets building their gingerbread house from a couple years ago.
I used a kit from Memorable Seasons called Christmas Time by Carta Bella and a sketch from The memory Nest.

For a fun touch I pleated some ribbon behind the photo. It made me think of old fashioned candy.

I used my goo border punch because I thought it looked like the icing dripping off the roof of the gingerbread house. Love when I can think of different ways to use things!

I finished off by adding a washi tape border and journaling around it. I love the finished feel it gives a layout.

Meeting Santa w/ NAS

Hello! I have a fun Christmas layout using this awesome sketch from Nuts About sketches:

Here is my layout using the Christmas Time line by Carta Bella that I got as my Dec kit from Memorable Seasons.

I stayed pretty close to the sketch and just had fun mixing the different patterned papers.

I used bling for the dots on the sketch.

Then added in this fun sticker snowflake in place of one of the circles. With a little bit of bling on it, it makes it sparkle.

I hope your enjoying the holidays!

Merry Christmas card w/ Carta Bella

On the Memorable Seasons forum this month we are having food related challenges. I came up with a Keepin' it simple appetizer you can check it out here.

For the challenge I made this card:

I used Carta Bella's Christmas Time line and just let the paper do the work for me.

A bit of ribbon, a sentiment, some bling and some inking and it's ready to go.

Bows Tutorial w/ Moxxie

 Hello!
I have a fun little tutorial today.
I used the super cute Happy Pawlidays line from Moxxie.
(Enter to WIN it Here.)

to make these 2 bows:

I started with 16- 1/2inch strips of pp
4- 10 inches long
3- 9 inches
3- 8 inches
3- 7 inches
3- 6 inches
& 1 strip 3 inches long and 3/4 inches wide

Then take one of the longest strips, I want the stripes to show, so I turn it over and take one end to fold into the middle like this and glue it:

Then you take the other end and fold it into the middle for a figure 8, I glued all of mine but you could use staples:

After you have all of your strips (except the 3/4 inch one) glued you start layering them and gluing the middles together:

My bow got really full before I used all of the strips, so I just started another one. To finish you take the 3/4 inch strip, glue it into a circle and then add it to the center. For the smaller bow I just cut the center strip to a shorter length and trimmed it down a bit in width. I didn't measure it. And here is another look at what I ended up with:

Have fun!

Santa's Lap w/ Moxxie & NAS

Hello, it's Nuts About Sketches Monday!
The sketch I'm showing you today is actually from last week, but there is a new 2 page sketch up on the blog today, you can check it out here.
This sketch is from last Monday:

And is the one I used to create this layout:

My boys telling Santa what they want for Christmas. It's just a little bit magical, isn't it?
I used the fun new Happy Pawlidays line from Moxxie.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch and had lots of fun creating this page.
Just because this is a Pet Holiday line doesn't mean you can't use it for other things.
This cute Santa hat was cut off the adorable little doggie.

I added a few embellishments I've been gifted recently and ones that worked their way into my stash.

Using Moxxie's Red alpha for the title was really fun. It doesn't come with apostrophes so I just used the inside of an upper case Q.

Moxxie is doing a giveaway for this line right now. Don't miss out!

What is on your list?

Gingerbread Kisses w/ Moxxie

 Hey there,
today I have this super cute layout I made using the fun Happy Pawlidays line!
We don't have any pets around our place but that did not slow me down on thinking of all the fun ways I could use this adorable line. Here's a layout I made of my little guy:

My kids thoroughly enjoyed making a gingerbread house that year and, not surprisingly, my little 3yr old, sweet tooth enjoyed eating the candies! It looked just like he'd gotten into someone's make-up when he was done, so we had him pucker up for a picture.

All of the details and closeup photos for this layout are on the Moxxie blog.

So Scary lo w/ Carta Bella

Today I have another layout with Carta Bella's Spooky line:

For this one I challenged our members to do a paper folding challenge. Here I took circles and folded up each side but did not adhere them down, like in the style of a quilted cathedral window. I found a tutorial for that here.

I thought leaving the edges up gave it a cool look at I wasn't using matching papers, so it wasn't going to look as uniform anyway. I like the way it turned out.

I used the gooey border punch my friend gave me to spruce up my borders and even used it on my photo. I really like that look!

And here is my project created using mostly Happy Pawlidays:

I started with this wood that my husband cut out for me from scraps:

Then paint.
(I tend to get carried away and forget I don't have to paint the areas that will be covered with paper. lol)

Then I laid each piece on my paper, traced it, cut it out and added it to the wood piece using Mod Podge.

Sand and ink the edges and you're almost done.

Add some stickles to the star. (the star pp is from the volleyball line and the tree trunk from Autumn Glory)
I finished off by fussy cutting the ornaments from the Happy Pawlidays line to decorate my tree.

Scary lo w/ Carta Bella

At Memorable Seasons for the month of November, I was working with Carta Bella's Spooky line.
I'm a big fan of Halloween, so I had to make some fun layouts with it.
Our first challenge is usually to scraplift a board member and for Nov. it was Dria.
I picked this layout of hers:

It has a lot of fun misting and uses a template, which I often forget, and it's just really pretty.
Here's what I came up with:

I misted with orange and black to go with my theme and used a template with circles to keep the pumpkin theme going. Then put all my photos together on one mat.

I had a lot of fun layering the awesome stickers.

and I used the stickers and cutout sheet to do the layers along side my photo grouping. Then added some fun, shimmery glammer rocks from Imaginisce.

Happy Scrapping!

Sticker Frenzy w/ Doodlebug & NAS

Hello!
It's the 1st day of that last month of the year. Man, this year has flown by! I can't believe it. Feels like life just keeps pushing the gas pedal and we go faster and faster. I'm glad it's a good ride.

Today is NAS Monday and I have a super cute layout for you using this fab sketch by Shawn:

I chose the left side for my layout:

I had these random December photos of my son being his cute little self all covered with stickers and thought why not Christmas paper? So looking through the Santa Express line from Doodlebug I found this fun sheet that could easily be a bunch of stickers, perfect for my background.

I layered some less busy papers on the right, to put 2 of my photos on, used the fun 12x12 sticker borders and then added two of the squares from the "sticker paper" to look like stickers between my photos. All of my papers are inked in black to really see their lines.

I also used a pattern under my main photo that wasn't as busy, but I've also outlined my photos with a bigger sized black pen, so they don't get lost in all the "stickers". For this same reason I used contrasting colors of alphas stickers from Moxxie, I really wanted the words to pop against their backgrounds. Lastly, I added more stickers, of course!

Happy December!
