Back 2 School with Moxxie!

Today we are going back 2 school! My kids are already in their second week back, but we are still trying to settle into our busy schedule. I thought it would be fun to do a layout of my little guy waiting for his turn to go.

These School Zone papers from Moxxie are so fun and easy to use. I just picked some of the more kiddish ones and decided to go with a simple grid design. I love that I had a photo of the bus driving away to add to this. My younger daughter is in the back window waving too, which makes it even more special to me.

I used the rub-on stop sign from the School Zone rub-on pack in my title, along with some chalk washi tape and red staples.

I added some numbered washi tape along the bottom of the photo and circled my son's age, then cut out some crayons from the patterned paper to add below. I wanted my main photo and grid to be a little more cohesive which is why I picked a few coordinating colors of markers and went around the grid a few times.

Looking for a way to connect the school bus to the main portion of the layout, I decided to go with this fun arrow washi tape and then added my journaling below.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this fun School Zone line today!
Thanks for stopping by. :)Ange

Park City and Moxxie

Hey there! I have the latest, most awesome-est sketch from Nuts About Sketches for you and I used one of my all time favorite Moxxie lines to make my layout. Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout using the fabulous Softball line:

This layout is waiting for some journaling by my daughter. She specifically asked that I include her blue players wrist band, so I thought I'd let her do the journaling too. Do you ever have your kids add the journaling to layouts about them?

She had so much fun with her softball team and awesome coaches at the Park City tournament! You can see that I turned the sketch and I love it this way. I also, loved that it had all these fun circles going on to go with the softball theme.

I did lots of inking with brown to dirty it up a bit and added some blue staples for their team uniform colors and just for fun.

Here I used some staples and a brad to hold the bracelet in place and you can see the fun layers I added with the different prints from the softball line.

I love the bold black title and the way it stands out on the layout. Believe it or not there is 9, yes NINE, photos on this one page layout. Now that is a lot. Thanks for stopping by today! :)Ange

A little bit of fun

I have a few fun things for today. One layout and 2 cards. We'll start with the layout using this week's sketch from NAS #279 and Moxxie's new Forever Fall line:

Here's the sketch:

As you can see I kept with the basics, but did rotate the sketch a quarter turn since my photo was horizontally oriented. I had a lot of fun adding layers to this layout. The sides are 3 layers of punched cs with this fun pine needle border punch my friend gave me.

I used the awesome Moxxie rub-ons, love them! cut lots of circles from scraps, added pen stitching to some of the elements, inked lots, added stickles and used a bit of washi tape.

Here I have a card using the 6x6 paper pad I got from Authentique recently. For the band across the card I punched the red paper and then cut a green strip and threaded it like ribbon through the red. I'm using this card for the Moxie Fab World Holiday Card Challenge:

And last but not least I have this fun card using DCWV Birthday Wishes stack and their card sketch challenge. I rolled some of the pp and added twine for the candle look.

PLAY like a girl!

Shawn, from Nuts About Sketches, has a great 2 page sketch today. Since I prefer to do one page layouts, I chose the right side of the sketch and made this layout:

My daughter was working really hard at getting in the mix more and positioning herself for goals. Love seeing her get in and go for it! I used the new Moxxie Soccer line along with a rub-on from the new Fighting Back line. Here's a couple close ups:

I had so much fun putting this one together. Lovin' my washi!! I used soccer brads that my sweet friend gave me and leftover stars from other layouts as a confetti on my page.

One of my favorite things about the newest Moxxie release is the bar-code strips have a fun print on the back of them. This white strip with black and green stars is a bar-code strip. Love it!

Here's the sketch:

You can stop by the blog and see the layouts the rest of the DT put together for you.

Scrap365 Magazine Review

I have something super fun for you today. I got the opportunity to review a scrapbook magazine! I know right? I am seriously lucky and totally LOVING it!

The magazine is: Scrap 365! Isn't that clever? Scrapping 365 days a year? Yes, please! I got my hands on the current August/Sept issue. They are based in Britain, you can find their homepage here: Scrap365

As I pulled the magazine out of the envelope I was greeted with a wonderful mini book project! The photo of the project is excellent and the project looks good enough to grab and thumb through. I have to admit I was surprised that the magazine reached me so quickly and slightly frustrated that I wasn't able to sit right down and read it cover to cover. But I did take it along on our family trip and read whenever I had a second to spare.
I have to tell you, there is a lot of good ideas in this magazine! The tutorials were excellent, I especially enjoyed the project tutorial A Cut Above by Emilie Chamel. I will be trying out a few of those ideas very soon. I also enjoyed the challenges that they have. There are a couple of sketches shown on the editor's page and the CSI challenge on p.41 really caught my eye. There are some lovely layouts shown as examples for that and I thought the color scheme they used would have went right along with the view I had while reading along:

They also have a section for photography, which I love! I am always looking for ways to improve my photography and thus my pages as an extension. The tips mentioned are great and easy for anyone to use. I would love to see this section expand on itself with more wonderful but easy tips to follow.
The only thing that I found disappointing was the location of the tips for layouts. You know the, why we picked this layout or did you notice this in this layout, types of tips? I found a few tips here and there with layouts, at the end of one article and then the Delightful Details article near the end of the magazine. I thought the Delightful Details was a very clever way to deliver the tips, but I think I would have enjoyed it more to see these tips along side each layout. I just love when a tip points me to something I missed when I looked the first time or tells me why they found this particular project fantastic.
Advertising is a huge part of magazine and I have to say I love an advertisement that you *almost* don't realize is advertising. This ad was an excellent example of that and was fun to look at while we were camping.

They finished up with a delightfully, eye-catching project and a few hints at what's coming in the next issue of Scrap365. I'm excited to see what's next for the CSI challenge and On A Theme sections.
I thoroughly enjoyed this issue of Scrap365 and would suggest it to any scrapper or paper crafter for new and fun ideas. So whether you're at the beach, out camping or

in your own backyard, I think you will really enjoy this magazine.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! :)Ange

 Got Moxxie

I had a lot of fun putting this layout together. I fussy cut some of the seed packets out to tuck beneath the top right corner of my photo after inking them for a used feel. I added some glam rocks for photo corners. I love the purple paper in this line so I used it for the mat of my photo and distressed it.

I wanted to use this lil sprout banner so I added it along with some other banners along the bottom of the photo. I also distressed all the pp edges that I could. Love the dimension it adds!

I wanted my title here but had already used the less busy pps & didn't want to just add it to the background of the layout, so I went with the seed packet pattern and a bold title with the brackets working as arrows and then I outlined each letter & bracket in the title with a brown marker. It's hard to see it here, but it made my title stand out against the busy pattern below. I also used the little flower banner triangles as arrows to help lead the eye to the title.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!!
:)Ange
