New layout: Ayla

I loved this NAS sketch when I first saw it and knew I would use it for a layout about Ayla with one of the photos we recently took of her. She did such a great job with the shoot, I had a hard time picking just a few photos to print.

I used Basic Grey papers from the August TSS kit. I used KaiserCraft ink on my paper edges, hand stitched with some black floss, added cinnamon stickles to the top of the alphas and pop dotted some of the elements to give the page dimension. I've finally used some of that design tape too. It came in the kit. I used it under the title and to wrap the cb star that I had inked into yuckiness. lol Pretty fun and easy! Time to get my hands on some more.

Here's the sketch:

Fall

November Scrap Our Stash challenge is a recipe challenge. You have the choice between doing a layout with a recipe or following the recipe:

5 embelishments (flowers, buttons, etc)

4 words or letters in your title
3 pictures
2 pattern papers
1 solid paper

I chose to follow the recipe.

I used orange cs, 2 pp; the stripe and the strip with the imagination quote, 3 photos, 4 letters in my title and my 5 embellies are buttons, journaling card, ink, stickles and staples.
Most of this was in an old Fancy Pants kit I had and the rest is from my stash.

My son and daughter were having a great time using corn stalks as magical staffs. I was even turned into a toad for getting too close. lol Gotta love it.

Come play along with us and send in your November project.

Little Monster

This layout was so much fun to make!

You'll notice the picture of my layout here is a little different than the one on the Nuts site. It's because I had this great idea to use a white pen for a little doodling when I got done, but I totally spaced it and took a photo to send to Shawn. When I remembered I added the white pen and retook the photo for my blog. :)

I used Fancy Pants Trick or Treat line from last year. It was perfect, obviously Halloween, but so easy to use with this photo of Jayse at a volleyball game in Sept. His grandpa stuck pretzel sticks in his mouth and asked me to take a picture so Jayse could see how scary he looked.

This sketch was so fun to use! Go check out the other dt examples on the Nuts About Sketches site.

Time to Brush?

NAS Monday around here people! Here's my latest layout:

Nothing but a trouble maker here. My son is always into something and this day he thought he needed to help himself to a little toothpaste. Good thing he's cute right?

I just used the left side of the sketch for this. My embellishments and papers are really from everywhere, some new, some (really) old. After getting the title on, I decided it was a bit bright so I inked it up a little, which darkened and 'dirtied' it, going great with my theme. I also inked up the bottom cs and some of the stars are chipboard with ink on them.

Here's the sketch:

If you try it out for yourself, don't forget to upload it to the link on the NAS site so we can come see it too. Check out the rest of the dt designs while you're there.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week. :)Ange
